The bubbly and charming Shruti Sharma played the innocent Meera, who later showed up a grey shade in the serial Mamta with ease. The actress now has gone a notch above as she portrays the obsessive Shabnam in Star Plus afternoon saga Bhabhie.
Talking about her roles, Shruti opines, 'My character in Mamta started off to be a very talkative but innocent girl who later touched shades of grey. After Mamta ended, my friend who is the Creative Head of Bhabhie called me up for this role. I play the character of Shabnam, who pretends to be positive, but is an out and out negative person from within..' Her track in Bhabhi goes hand in hand with the seasoned campaigner Nimai Bali, who plays the scheming Lallaji. Says Shruti, 'I had previously worked with him in CID as his assistant; when he got to know that I play the negative character here, he was taken by surprise. Even now, he keeps mocking, that I am like his younger sister, and how could I play such a role?'(laughs)
The story in Bhabhi has taken an interesting twist wherein Rohit is trapped for the murder of Shabnam, who is actually alive. 'I can't reveal much as of now. All I can say is that it gets pretty exciting from now. There are more twists and turns in store', says the petite Shruti.
Ready to explore various kinds of roles at this young age, Shruti hopes to get more opportune roles to play. 'Talks are on with few people, let's see; I am keeping my fingers crossed', says Shruti as she signs off.
